Everyday Shopping

As I mentioned earlier, Nidri is loaded with tourists during the Summer so you can find almost everything for your everyday shopping. All shops mentioned in this page are located on the central road of the city.

Some friends and colleges of mine who origin from the island told me about Kominatos Bakery where you can find bread, pies, croissants etc. The are 2 Kominatos in Nidri, both on your left as you are crossing it towards Vasiliki. The first is the first near the entrance of the city and the second in the center.

I also visited IN Market Super Market which is a member of a local Super Market Chain. You' ll find it near the entrance of the city on your right (crossing Nidri towards Vasiliki), just opposite the first Kominatos Bakery. I don't know if it is the cheapest one but it's location suited me. I have to mention here that some days it had serious problem with the groceries (either the were no groceries at all or their quality was pure). Contrariwise the quality of their feta cheese was superb.

One day I found top quality groceries in Kontogeorgiou Groceries in the center of Nidri on your right (crossing it towards Vasiliki). For meat go to Gazis Butcher Shop (center of Nidri, on the same side of the road). 

For foreign press there is a store in the center of Nidri on your left (crossing towards Vasiliki). Unfortunately I don't remember it's name.

When your holidays are finished and you are leaving the island, don't forget to get some tyrokouloura (a kind of cheese pie) from Thanassis Kalos Bakery in Ligia. You will find on the central road on your right as you are crossing it towards the city of Lefkas.
