Porto Katsiki is the most famous beach of Lefkas Island (on the photos you can see why). Do not try to go there by boat, prefer to go there by car or with a cruise boat. |

Porto Katsiki it's far from Nidri (about 1 hour navigation) and it's difficult to moor because the beach is steep and crowded and there are always waves, even on the calm days. So you will find it difficult to unload and load your family and beach accessories on the beach. Moreover, If you decide to drop your anchor in the middle of the bay and stay on the boat, your will get dizzy very soon due of the waves. |

Navigating back to Nidri on the afternoon (when the western afternoon winds start to blow), you will face a rough sea in the Cape of Lefkata and the high waves in Lefkas Channel. The sea becomes calm again when you enter Meganisi Channel. See the Quicktime Video from Porto Katsiki (4 MB approx.) |
The same info applies for Agiofili beach. Agiofili is a crowded small beach (it was a nudist beach some years back) and it gets very difficult to moor there. Moreover it gets affected from the western afternoon winds that blow in Lefkas Channel.
